Motorcycle accident claims Carlisle man

A Carlisle man was killed Saturday evening in a motorcycle accident on Crommie Road in the Town of Carlisle.
Ira F. Roe, 39, was operating his 2003 Suzuki northbound on Crommie Road with another motorcyclist at about 7:45pm and rounding a slight curve near the intersection of Ward Road when it went off the east side of the road, traveled up an embankment and overturned. Mr. Roe was ejected, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff's Office.
Mr. Roe suffered massive injuries and Schoharie County Coroner Matthew Coltrain pronounced Mr. Roe deceased at the scene and ordered the body removed to Albany Medical Center for an autopsy, according to police.
In addition to the Sheriff's Office, personnel from the Carlisle Fire Department and Cobleskill Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
