The Cobleskill State Police conducted a one-week speed enforcement campaign targeting speeding motorists from August 5 to 11.
From August 5 to 11, Troopers issued 205 tickets. This included 128 for speeding, 19 for failing to move over for emergency vehicles, nine for seatbelt violations, two for using electronic devices while driving, and 46 other tickets for miscellaneous traffic infractions. In addition, one of the tickets issued for speeding led to a DWI arrest where the subject was found to have a blood alcohol content of .18 percent.
The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to target compliance with posted speed limits and the promotion of highway safety.
Troopers plan to continue their efforts throughout the year in order to make the state's highways as safe as possible.
