Once again, the Schoharie County Venison Coalition had many successful hunters donate their deer in 2015.
The Schoharie County Chapter of White Tails Unlimited donated a muzzleloader to be put in a drawing for all who donated a whole deer.
The winner this year is Alvin Campbell who was presented his prize by Willy Karlau, coordinator of the Schoharie County Venison Coalition, at Marlow's Deer Processing where Mr. Campbell donated his deer.
Mr. Campbell's name was drawn at the January meeting of the Middleburgh Rod and Gun Club.
This is the 14th year that the program has accepted donated deer for processing.
The venison is then delivered to local food pantries throughout the county.
"Thank you to all hunters who donated their nine deer with a total of 405 pounds this year, bringing the total of venison donated during these 14 years to 16,475 pounds, which helped to feed the hungry of Schoharie County," said Mr. Karlau.
Hunters brought their deer to Marlow's in Howes Cave and to Bleau's in Gallupville for processing.
