School budgets pass easily

Local schools had no trouble passing their 2016-17 budgets in voting Tuesday.
Districts also filled school board seats and passed bus resolutions.
In COBLESKILL-RICHMONDVILLE, voters approved the $39.6 million budget 663-195.
They also approved a proposition to buy six buses for not more than $584,469, 653-204.
In a three-way race for two school board seats, winners were incumbent Mary Black with 618 votes and Maggie Jackman Pryor, who got 536 votes. Maureen Maillard received 403 votes.
Voters approved the Community Library budget, 658-199.
Ruth Ashworth and Jean Stennett were elected to the library board.
MIDDLEBURGH voters approved a $21.28 million budget 490-314.
They also approved a bus purchase proposition, 479-325.
Debra Bechtold with 547 votes and Vicki Hoertz with 502 were elected the school board.
Mike Fisher received 282 votes and Maurice (Kevin) Lawton got 216.
In SCHOHARIE, voters approved a $22.87 million budget 333-119.
They also passes a bus purchase proposition, 339-114.
Three incumbent school board members ran for re-election with Terry Burton getting 354 votes, Marion Jaqueway, 351, and Dan Guasp, 320 votes.
The Schoharie Free Library proposition passed 340-110.
SHARON SPRINGS voters approved their $9.1 million budget, 113-22.
They also passed a $12,000 bus proposition, 81-51, and elected Christine Cornwell to a five-year board seat with 119 votes and Renee Bade to a four-seat seat with 83 votes.
Both were running unopposed.
In WORCESTER, voters approved their $11 million budget, 148-63.
They also approved a proposition to buy two buses and one van, 153-57.
Bill Fisher, running unopposed, was re-elected to the school board with 174 votes.
JEFFERSON voters approved their budget, 126-37, and a bus purchase, 124-40.
Sara Schultz won a school board seat with 133 votes.
GIBOA-CONESVILLE voters approved their $10.4 million, 96-28.
Evelyn Addams was re-elected to her own school board seat with 116 votes, and voters approved a bus purchase, 100-24.
