Schoharie County will celebrate the Fourth of July in a big way this year with a parade, fireworks, living history events, and more.
Traditionally, Cobleskill's hosted the festivities, but because of Main Street construction, events are being spread out throughout the county.

The traditional fireworks celebration at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds will still be held, but has been moved to Saturday, July 2, when there will also be a Family Fun Day there.
The Fourth will feature a 10am parade in the Village of Sharon Springs with the theme "America the Beautiful."

--July 2, Cobleskill, 1pm, Family Fun Day with music at the Fairgrounds; fireworks at dusk.
--July 4, Sharon Springs, Countywide Fourth of July parade, 10am; 11:30am, picnic and music in Chalybeate Park.
--July 4, Middleburgh, Dr. Best Museum, 11am, "Forged with Fire and Iron;" 12:30pm, appraisal event.
--July 4, 1-4pm, Schoharie, Old Stone Fort, living history events.
--July 6, Sharon Springs, Arts Council concert in Chalybeate Park, 7pm.

SHARON PARADE

As part of the Schoharie County-wide Fourth of July celebration, Sharon Springs will be hosting a 10am parade on the Fourth with entries and participants from everywhere.
Floats, antique cars, tractors, groups carrying banners, and more are all welcome.
Organizations and businesses are encouraged to participate by submitting a parade registration form by June 30.
Registration forms can be found on the Sharon Springs Chamber website, sharonspringschamber.com/forth-of-july-weekend-in-schoharie-county/ or contact Mr. Ketelsen at 860-5513.
The parade will begin at Dairyland on Route 20, go down Route 10 to Beechwood, and then Chestnut Street before heading to the athletic fields up behind the school.
Following the parade, there will be food and music by The American Longboards in Sharon Springs' Chalybeate Park, where the Sharon Springs Methodist Church will also be holding a kid's carnival.
