Free fishing fun Saturday at Looking Glass

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in cooperation with the Schoharie County Conservation Association and the West Fulton Rod and Gun Club will host a free fishing event at Looking Glass Pond on Rossman Hill Road in the Town of Fulton this Saturday from 10am-2pm.
Approximately 85 legal size largemouth bass will be stocked immediately prior to the event, and fishing gear and bait will be provided to individuals upon request.
In addition, DEC staff and rod and gun club members will be on hand to provide angling advice and assistance to members of the public. DEC will also have staff on hand demonstrating how to fillet fish. The site is handicapped accessible.
This event is part of DEC's free fishing weekend of June 25-26, no fishing license or recreational marine fishing registry is required.
Participants should note that all applicable fishing laws and regulations remain in effect during the event.
Free sportfishing clinics are held throughout the state.
